About me

I am privileged to be able to say that I am enjoying my third decade in the industry. Boasting an impressive career in media, I cut my teeth on The Scottish Sun (Glasgow) in 1989 straight from school. I worked my way through the ranks of News International and gained experience in all areas of the business from promotions and advertising through to editorial production, journalism, publishing and print. I was proud to accept a long service award from the Managing Director before I left in 2007 to join The Scotsman Publications (Edinburgh).

During my time in Edinburgh I was proud to be part of the huge success that was 'Edinburgh Has Talent'. The Edinburgh Evening News created this wonderful talent show in association with Radio Forth. As well as managing the competition and marketing campaign, I was the producer of the live show and appeared on the panel as a judge. I looked after many external partnerships and produced ideas and promotions to maintain reader engagement and increase newspaper sales.

My efforts were rewarded with two prestigious awards:

Marketing Star Award for Promotional Excellence
(Marketing Society of Scotland)

Best Use of Digital
(Johnston Press Awards)

I regularly contribute to Explore magazine, which is published by leading hotel and marketing company, Hotel Connexions. I have been guest editor for several editions of this beautiful publication.

As well as my media work, in the past I have appeared in several musical productions in Glasgow and made my professional debut as a backing vocalist on Michael Bolton’s UK tour. My passion for music, theatre, travel and my life long love affair with the printed word is the driving force behind my business. I live near Glasgow with my husband, photographer Steve Welsh and my son, Robbie.
